Sorensen has been appointed by the Arizona Supreme Court to Chair the State Bar of Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. Sorensen joined the Board in 2018 and will serve a two-year term from July 1, 2020 until June 30, 2022.
Out of more than 17,000 practicing attorneys in Arizona, approximately 700 have earned recognition as a board-certified specialist. Arizona attorneys certified as a specialist must submit to re-evaluation every five years. Practice areas where certified specialization is available include criminal law, personal injury and wrongful death, workers’ compensation, family law, bankruptcy, estate and trust, real estate and tax law.
Sorensen joined Burch & Cracchiolo in 2011 and has 35 years of litigation experience in both state and federal court. Her practice focuses on providing mediation services and defending aggravated liability and damages matters, including Federal Motor Carrier (trucking accident) cases, vehicular products liability matters, construction site injury and death matters, and premises liability cases. Sorensen is licensed to practice in California and Arizona.
