(January 31, 2022…Phoenix, AZ) The law firm of Burch & Cracchiolo, P.A. is proud to announce Courtney Wilson as the January 2022 recipient of the “B&C Star Teacher Award.”
Wilson is a 3rd grade teacher at Hopi Elementary School in the Scottsdale Unified School District where she has been teaching for 20 years. She earned her B.A. in education from Arizona State University in 2001.
Wilson was nominated by parent Emily Blais who wrote:
Mrs. Courtney Wilson is an incredible teacher! She has taught at our neighborhood elementary school for many years and is full of Hopi pride! This year, however, she has had an especially challenging year ranging from COVID protocols, to zoom teaching, to student behavior issues... you name it... it has come her way! Every day, she has shown up to teach a class of 24 kids and has done it with a smile (under her mask, of course) and a happy heart. Courtney is incredible kind and loving and takes a special interest in each one of her students. We are so proud to have her as our teacher!
Wilson reports she will use the funds to replenish her classroom with sorely needed art supplies and headphones for her students.
A Valley teacher is chosen each month to receive $500 through a nominating process on the firm’s website www.bcattorneys.com. Nominations are accepted from students, former students and parents who wish to honor and thank a teacher who has had a profound impact on their life. Many teachers spend their own money to augment the costs of classroom supplies, field trips and other non-covered costs that arise throughout the school year. B&C hopes to alleviate that burden for one deserving teacher each month. In addition, the school where the educator teaches receives a check for $250 to be used at their discretion.
Nominations are open to all teachers in K-12 who teach in Maricopa County. Winners will be notified and then presented a check at their school by a member of Burch & Cracchiolo. Photos and/or video will be taken to post on the firm website and social media.
