(February 21, 2024…Phoenix, AZ) This month's Star Teacher Award was given to Reema Sharma of Central High School. A native of India, Ms. Sharma, has been teaching algebra and geometry at Central since 2020. Prior to that she taught in India for 13 years. In addition to her teaching duties, she is the Central HS coach for the State Bar of Arizona’s Foundation for Legal Services Mock Trial competition. This event is slated for this Friday the 23rd and they have promised us some photos.

Ms. Sharma was nominated by her former student Zulfar Kahlili:
I had a unique chance to knowing Ms. Sharma. She was my Sophomore year teacher. I had best year with her. She has positive energy in class. She is hardworking and had much focus on students. She is best at managing activities or group activities in class, and she encourages students to feel free and comfortable with her. I strongly endorse Ms. Sharma as a nomination, and I believe she will be best for her community and helping students.
A Valley teacher is chosen each month to receive $500 through a nominating process on the firm’s website www.bcattorneys.com. Nominations are accepted from students, former students and parents who wish to honor and thank a teacher who has had a profound impact on their life. Many teachers spend their own money to augment the costs of classroom supplies, field trips and other non-covered costs that arise throughout the school year. B&C hopes to alleviate that burden for one deserving teacher each month. In addition, the school where the educator teaches receives a check for $250 to be used at their discretion.
Nominations are open to all teachers in K-12 who teach in Maricopa County. Winners will be notified and then presented a check at their school by a member of Burch & Cracchiolo. Photos and/or video will be taken to post on the firm website and social media.
