(October 16, 2024…Phoenix, AZ) Our October Star Teacher is Dalila Vargas of Pueblo del Sol Middle School at 34th Avenue and Osborn in the Isaac Elementary School District. It’s hard to believe but Dalila is our 50th teacher to be honored. It’s especially nice that the nominator, Lauren Hawks, is one of our Star Teacher alumni from May of 2022.

Lauren wanted to pass the honor on by nominating Dalila who she believes is very special. After 4 years of teaching 6th-8th grade structured English immersion she has made a tremendous impression on her students and the entire faculty. B&C partner, Ken Januszewski presented Dalila a check for $500 and Pueblo del Sol received an additional check for $250. AZ Big Media also provided a gift card for dinner at Kasai, a Japanese Steakhouse in Scottsdale.
A Valley teacher is chosen each month to receive $500 through a nominating process on the firm’s website www.bcattorneys.com. Nominations are accepted from students, former students and parents who wish to honor and thank a teacher who has had a profound impact on their life. Many teachers spend their own money to augment the costs of classroom supplies, field trips and other non-covered costs that arise throughout the school year. B&C hopes to alleviate that burden for one deserving teacher each month. In addition, the school where the educator teaches receives a check for $250 to be used at their discretion.
Nominations are open to all teachers in K-12 who teach in Maricopa County. Winners will be notified and then presented a check at their school by a member of Burch & Cracchiolo. Photos and/or video will be taken to post on the firm website and social media.
