Knope was nominated by B&C partner Brian Greathouse and his wife Kim. Their nomination reads:
I believe at some point in a child 's education they meet a teacher that inspires them. Our son has been fortunate enough to find this teacher this year during 6th grade. Our son switched to a new school this year and had his reservations. We were worried as every parent would be. However, once he met Ms. Knope we knew that he would be fine. Ms. Knope is a behavior interventionalist who helps kids with who are struggling academically, behaviorally and emotionally. If I am honest, our son has never loved school. He struggles with anxiety and it often affects his enjoyment of school. However, Ms. Knope has instilled a love of learning in him that we have never seen before. Instead of delaying to make it to school in the morning, he eagerly wakes up. We are amazed. She has truly impacted his life and increases he confidence in the classroom. She is also amazing at keeping in contact with parents and keeps us updated on everything about him. As parents, we are appreciative of this. Not only is Ms. Knope an amazing teacher but she is also a caring, great-hearted person. She has worked one-on-one with our son numerous times regarding organizational skills, coping skills with stress, and on classwork and subjects he is struggling with. Her caring and loving heart displays itself through her work in and out of the class with her students. Ms. Knope is deserving of this award. Teachers like her deserve acknowledgement for their dedication to their students and school. She is that teacher that has impacted my son's life and will continue to inspire him.
A Valley teacher is chosen each month to receive $500 through a nominating process on the firm’s website www.bcattorneys.com. Nominations will be accepted from students, former students and parents who wish to honor and thank a teacher who has had a great impact on their life. Many teachers spend their own money to augment the costs of classroom supplies, field trips and other non-covered costs that arise throughout the school year. B&C hopes to alleviate that burden for one deserving teacher each month.
Nominations are open to all teachers in K-12 who teach in Maricopa County. Winners will be notified and then presented a check at their school by a member of Burch & Cracchiolo. Photos and/or video will be taken to post on the firm website and social media. To nominate go to www.bcattorneys.com, click on the “Nominate a Star Teacher” button and tell us why you think your teacher deserves the B&C Star Teacher Award.
